New Samsung LED TV

I took this picture from Samsung web site on their latest LED TV promotion. Samsung has aggressively promoting their 1.2" super thin or ultra slim LED panel. I understand this is due to that Samsung LED backlighting are surrounded in the sides/edges of the panel.

Other impressive features advertised include 200Hz Auto Motion Plus, Wide Color Enhancer Pro, Mega Contrast, built-in Internet @TV connectivity, USB2.0 Movie, DLNA Wireless and environmental Energy Star green features such as low power, mercury-free LED lights and recyclable bezel frame.

What I understand is with LED technology, the controlled backlighting can be dimmed in dark areas to give a better picture contrast details in darker scenes. Viewing angle which always cause contrast degradation at LCD panel has also improved and wide color reality is further boosted or stretched with the RGB colored backlights on such panel.
I personally haven't pay a visit to the local store to have a deep look on their Samsung latest breathtaking technology. But from the reviews I have read, oversaturation can be viewed at black and white areas details due to the super saturated blacks/color.
Price factor is also a consideration as I can see the price ranges from RM8,999 to RM20,999 (for LED TV series range from 40", 46" and 55") in the latest Samsung price promotion. But they did include few exclusive FREE gifts such as Samsung Premium Netbook N310, Home Theathre System, Blu-Ray players and HDMI cables for different TV series purchase. I expect the price will reduce in years to come as what we can see from CRT tubes and LCD panels that we have today.
Other notable features include Motion Plus which gives a judder free and motion lag elimination especially when coming to watching fast moving scenes or gaming. With the 4 HDMI inputs, 1 PC, 1 LAN and 2 USB slots (not to mention the common composite and components slots that we have nowadays), it gives users variety options to view a good picture/sound quality of their preference. Added to the option is the Internet connectivity where users can opt for wireless feature with an optional accessory.
Good to see the breakthrough of this LED technology in comparison to LCD panel, still waiting for an impressive of OLED panel showdown especially in terms of picture quality performance in the near future.
